In a bizarre twist of priorities, law enforcement and fire officials across San Andreas found themselves in hot water this week after they held a lavish memorial ceremony for a beloved local cat, Sprinkels, while numerous 9-1-1 calls went unanswered.
Sprinkels, a domestic short-hair, known for his charming approach to community members and his volunteer work at the local bodega, passed away Wednesday evening.
The devastating loss of the four-legged friend prompted law enforcement and fire officials to don their best uniforms and lead a many-mile-long procession from Blaine County to the funeral home in Los Santos, where they would share heartfelt stories and honor Sprinkels with a “Feline of Honor” award. During these events – 9-1-1 calls flooded into emergency services and were left unanswered.
While Sprinkels was remembered fondly by the community, residents were left scratching their heads at the apparent neglect of real emergencies.
“I called 9-1-1 because my grill caught fire, and all they could tell me was that they were busy paying tribute to a cat!” exclaimed a local Blaine County resident. “I love Sprinkels, but I didn’t sign up for a barbecue cremation!”
Instances like this left many San Andreas residents bewildered – and quite literally, fighting for their lives. The distinction between celebrating a cat's life and responding to 9-1-1 calls has never been so comically unclear.
