Suspect arrested after stealing and crashing state police vehicle during wild high-speed chase in Blaine County

A suspect was taken into custody late Friday after allegedly stealing a state police vehicle and crashing it during a high-speed pursuit in an attempt to evade arrest.

During the pursuit, the suspect reached speeds of more than 100 mph in the stolen SUV, according to law enforcement radio traffic.

The suspect ultimately lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn several times before coming to rest on its roof.

“Damn, brand spankin’ new Dodge Durango flipped about two, maybe three, maybe four times,” an eyewitness told Weazel News.

According to state records provided by the San Andreas Law Enforcement Council, the state police recently purchased dozens of 2024 and 2025 Dodge Durango Police Pursuit vehicles, and several were put into service this week.

The circumstances leading up to the pursuit remain unclear; however, the suspect was ultimately arrested for grand theft auto and failure to yield. The suspect may be facing additional charges if proven guilty.

Let this incident serve as a lesson and a reminder to never leave your car running and to lock your doors.

Sources tell Weazel News that a Los Santos police officer was also involved and injured during the chase. Our team of investigative journalists is looking into it.
