In a significant step toward sustainability, the city of Los Santos has unveiled its new electric fleet, introducing a lineup of Ford F-150 Lightning pickup trucks for the Department of Water and Power.
The new fleet includes 24 electric trucks equipped with advanced technology designed for utility work, including increased towing capacity and state-of-the-art safety features. The Department of Water and Power plans to deploy these trucks for various tasks, from maintenance to emergency response, showcasing their versatility and reliability.
City officials expect the switch to electric vehicles to result in significant savings on fuel costs and maintenance, as well as a notable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
“These trucks are not only environmentally friendly; they are also equipped to meet the demands of our daily operations while reducing reliance on fossil fuels,” the Department of Water and Power said at a news conference.
Community members attending the launch expressed support for the initiative, praising the city’s efforts to promote sustainable practices. The event included educational booths on electric vehicles and sustainability.
The program is expected to create awareness around electric vehicle usage and inspire others to consider a transition to electric driving.
