Suspicious death leaves investigators puzzled after second homicide in Stab City

Authorities are investigating a suspected homicide after a deceased male was discovered inside a mobile home trailer in Stab City, following a report of a suspicious odor in the area. Deputies from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the location after receiving a call from a local resident about the unusual smell on Friday, November 8th.

Upon arrival in the Stab City area, deputies were directed to a small trailer where they observed that the door was left ajar. Conducting a safety check due to the nature of the call, deputies entered the trailer and discovered the body of a male lying on the floor. The victim's injuries, coupled with the level of decomposition, led deputies to conclude that the individual had been deceased for some time, with injuries deemed incompatible with life.

The San Andreas Medical Examiner responded to the scene, and preliminary findings suggest that the victim's death was the result of a homicide. The Sheriff's Criminal Investigation Division (CIU) is now handling the case, and investigators are working to identify the victim and determine the circumstances surrounding his death.

Staff Sergeant Joe Casey of the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office expressed his concern over the discovery, noting that this marks the second homicide at the same location in Stab City in recent weeks.

“We are deeply concerned by the occurrence of a second homicide at the same location in Stab City. Our team, including myself and dedicated members of the Special Operations Group Criminal Investigations Unit, are working tirelessly to investigate these tragic events. We are committed to uncovering the truth, providing justice for the victims and their families, and ensuring the safety of the community,” Casey said in a statement.

“We encourage anyone with information related to these incidents to come forward as we continue to follow all leads in the ongoing investigation.”

In light of the recent violence, authorities have increased patrols in Stab City and surrounding areas, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.

Additional updates on the investigation will be provided as they become available. The sheriff’s office is asking anyone with relevant information to contact them.
